Brigitte has been in her studio for over a year to produce more than twenty paintings for Here and Now. In this body of work, she continues to explore her “Water in Me” theme. Beautiful abstract works in subtle blues, grays, greens with just the perfect small pops of ocher, orange red to feel unexpected. These are abstract works, indeed, but they remind us of that European river bank, a shimmering lake view, a broad expanse of marsh leading to the sea. The paintings invite us to step into them and explore these majestic landscapes.The show also features figurative work whose ease and elegance is intricately linked to the abstract process. Brigitte credits the creative synergy that produces strong, simplistic figures to her experience working with shapes, forms and lines in abstract work.
