Reflections

"Reflections" unveils a new series of both figurative and abstract paintings, guiding viewers to contemplate the intricate tapestry of human relationships, cherished memories, and the profound voyage through life's intricacies. McReynolds' figurative works stand as captivating focal points. As viewers delve into the intricate layers of these paintings, they are drawn into a world where some figures loom prominently while others linger as ethereal apparitions, conjuring a sense of nostalgia and contemplation. The work explores the complexity of human bonds past and present and the fleeting nature of memories.

The exhibition also features a captivating new series of McReynolds' abstract pieces. Through a harmonious blend of colors and forms, the paintings beckon viewers into their serene world, offering a sanctuary for contemplative thought and reflection. McReynolds' exquisite brushwork and composition enhance the immersive experience, allowing visitors to mentally wander within the abstract scenes.

"I work in series that can start as a concept of the mind, an idea, a thought, a vision of a finished work, or it can begin as an emotion, a feeling, a process of the heart. When I work on a theme, I explore it in various mediums, working figuratively and abstractly until it exhausts itself or leads to another theme. I apply what I’ve learned from working with shapes, forms, and lines in my abstract paintings to find the simplicity needed for abstracting a figure. Similarly, my abstract work is informed by my experience with figurative art." --Brigitte McReynolds
