Inclination to Spring

Bold, beautiful, full of energy and movement!  In the gallery now are new paintings by three artists whose work remedies the woes of winter.  Julia Jensen, new to the Whitney Modern family, uses her fresh approach to contemporary landscape to draw us in.  She creates vignettes that appear to be landscapes from a distance, but when you get closer, they are total abstraction.  Brigitte McReynolds, known for her wonderful figurative and abstract water series works, has moved for the moment, to a focus on funnels and flowers.  An exploration into the wild and re-birthing energies of nature.  Lisa Noonis evokes the pure pleasure of sun and sand with her new abstract beach and shore pieces-stand before them and you feel the sun, hear the surf, smell the sea. Lisa's work feels spontaneous and engaging, creating a vibrant experience with the viewer.
